Junior Golf
2008 Information coming soon!
The Junior Program will focus on developing basic skills, understanding the rules of golf, and having fun. Children between the ages of 5 and 17 will be grouped by skill level and given instruction appropriate for their ability. In addition to clinics, the program offers on-course instruction and practice by trained golf professionals.
This is not the act to follow!
Farm League (Level 1) Golfers will learn the fundament skills and develop the basic skills of grip, stance, aim, and posture. Instruction will take place predominantly at the driving range and practice green! At this level, the aim is to have children playing and having fun while developing their skills. A simple skills test should be passed before moving on to the Minor League.
Minor League (Level 2) Golfers will practice playing and learn to score. Instruction will focus on accuracy, the mechanics of a full swing, learning how to practice, and understanding the basic rules. Golfers can advance to Majors through passing a skills test and written quiz.
Major League (Level 3) Golfers will spend more time on the golf course learning shot selection and course management skills in competitive play. Instruction will focus on the mental game, including dealing with pressure, and golfers will establish a handicap. If there is enough player interest, a small travel team may be formed.
Clinics will be held indoors in case of inclement weather, utilizing the Nintendo Wii Golf software.
